application doesn't open

Whenever I try to play, my window stardew application does not open and I can't close the game, whenever I do, it says that the game is stopping when its not. The game doesn't appear on task manager, because its not opening.

if you have used mods in the past, check the games properties in steam and delete anything in the launch options.

verify the game files where you are at it.

if you still have mods installed, update them. but if they are properly installed you should get an error message instead of the game just not doing anything.

I deleted my mods folder, when I redownloaded SMAPI it happened again.

can you maybe elaborate please? There's nothing in my launch options and I don't know how to verify the game files or update my installed mods.
