Desert festival: Willy's third quest is bugged

On the third day of the desert festival Willy's quest is to find his golden bobber, that he lost. I fished and eventually got a treasure chest with the golden bobber inside. When I then try to talk to Willy about it, he says something unrelated and then I can't talk to him anymore, thus making it impossible to give him the bobber and end the quest. I replayed the day multiple times by now and the bug occurs every time.

Happens in english and german, v1.6.2 build 24081, Windows 10, fullscreen.

Willy is just GONE. Can't talk/turn in to someone who simply isn't there. Not in desert not at beach not anywhere.

I thought too that the quest was bugged but what you got to do is gift him the bobber!
