New fishing rod - weird stuck

I don't really know what happened, but I just bought new fishing rod, went outside of fisherman (don't blame me for forgetting names) shop and accidentally hit LMB for fishing, I realized that immediately and hit LMB again to stop fishing on wooden catwalk, but my character just frozen and I couldn't do anything except Alt + F4. I know, that in half way, it was my fault, but It's also a bug and I lost half of day with collecting findings. >.<

I can confirm this is true, exact same thing happened to me. Was trying to figure out how to apply bait and encountered the same bug. I've got a screenshot showing the bug in action, but I can't post it here, so eh.

which fishing rod are you using maybe one is bugged.

Happened to me too. It is the Fiberglass rod that caused it.

Yep... fiberglass gor was it, I also wanted to know, how to attach the bait... >.<

I just bought the fiberglass rod and noticed my character's animations weren't following the normal fishing animations then I got stuck mid-cast with the rod curved overhead.I had to exit out of the game completely to get unstuck. This is the first bug I've come across so, good job Concerned Ape! I'm really loving this game!

I dunno, I bought Iridium Rod and it didn't happened for me again. But when I read the changelog after this bug report, I didn't read anything about fishing rods...

Same thing happened to me, I accidentally pressed the mousebutton and started fishing on land. I froze too

Oh man, tell me about it! I was doing the EXACT same thing and this happened before I even got to figure it out. :(

This happened to me too, I just tabbed out to see what happened. The time keeps going in the day. It happened with the fibreglass fishing rod

Happens with iridium fishing rod too. I just got bugged in the lost woods. Going to die at the hands of a slime any minute now.

This is still an issue. I've encountered it twice. Animations broken and the game ends up being stuck after buying a new rod and trying it out. I was hoping someone had this and found a way to mitigate it.

I think that the developer doesn't read Bug Reports on Steam. And because I didn't play this game for long time and don't have much time, you should try to make a thread on Chucklefish forum.
