Clint ore delivery bug

Trying to complete the quest to deliver 25 copper or to clint, just instead used up 1 ore and he told me it "make him feel depressed".
Basically, instead of triggering handing in the items it just gave one and a gift instead.

I'm having a similar bug; already given him 2 gifts this week, and I have more than 35 copper ore for his request, but it just gives me the "already given" dialogue.
Edit- Checked the quest log, it says "18/35" gathered, which is the 18 I collected from the mine. Apparently you have to actually gather so many ore *after* accepting the quest, can't take from current stock.

The issue is that the game quest requires that you "obtain (X number of) copper ore", and checks to see if this requirement has been fulfilled before allowing you to turn the quest in. If you turn it in without satisfying this condition, you trade the item to him as a gift, which he dislikes.

This should probably get fixed, but in the meantime, a simple workaround is to drop the ore from out of your inventory and onto the ground. When you pick it back up again, your journal will update and you can turn the ore in to complete the quest.

To update this will new information:

You can store the required ore into a chest and take it back out. This will count.

You must talk to them, rather than actually holding the item like all other quests/missions. Just make sure you are holding a tool/empty slot and talk normally.
