Unable to place calendar in house

This might be PEBKAC, but the calendar item I bought doesn't let me place it inside the house. I thought maybe I needed the kitchen first, but it still doesn't place after the upgrade. Anyone else have this problem? it's a bit frustrating that I saved up the money to get the calendar and can't place it anywhere in the house.

Fortunately, have yet to run into any game-breaking bugs :) Overall, this is an excellent game and worthy successor (of sorts) to Harvest Moon; my thanks to the creator!

Are you placing it on the highest wall tile? I had that issue before I figured out I was trying to place the calander in the wrong spot.

By highest you mean the 'visible' wall (e.g. what the TV and table are up against)? I didn't expect it to work on the other walls, but I've tried it against every segment of wall I know of and I've tried it from different distances. Every time I hear a chime that seems to indicate it's in a bad spot, but there's no messaging or anything saying why.

FWIW, when I select the calendar it doesn't appear above my character's head (but other items I've placed successfully in house like chests + furnace do), is that normal?

The item won't appear over your head when you select it. And by the highest part of the wall, I mean it gets placed up by the tree picture, near the ceiling

Ahhh, PEBKAC it is :) The game cursor must be used to place it, and using a controller doesn't change that (most other things I'm able to do without use of the cursor)

Same. And quite frankly, a console game requiring you to use the cursor for this without saying something (like the only other cursor use, animal/building placement, does) is not PEBKAC, it's bad design.

Use touch controls for placing the calendar or anything else that is placing on the wall
