Game Freezes When Making Full Screen on Secondary Monitor

Here's what I'm doing:

1. Start the game on main monitor (Laptop).
2. If fullscreen, hit ALT+Enter or press in game button to make game windowed.
3. Move game window to extra monitor (connected via DVI through USB 3.0 docking station).
4. Load game and begin playing.

At this point, the game generally freezes after maybe 10 seconds after loading, and won't respond to any input and I'm forced to end the task via Task manager.

If anyone has any suggestions/fixes I can try it would be helpful. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of to get the game working including checking GPU settings, display settings, etc. This only happens when I try to play the game on the other monitor.
