Game not truly paused in background, impossible to multitask without breaking it
Title kinda summarizes it all. Essentially, when in windowed mode, the game doesn't truly pause in the background? At least, this seems to be the case. I multitask a lot when playing games, so I play Stardew in windowed mode. Any time I click out of it and do things such as use my browser, however, the game has an absolute fit and my player keeps moving erratically by herself out of my control or will act like I'm constantly hitting the left click and use her weapon nonstop. Getting this to quit is almost impossible unless the game is exited, which made me lose my progress and is absolutely an annoyance, especially when I'm an intense multitasker while gaming. So if I ever am talking to a friend online or something I simply just am unable to without fear of this game constantly and obnoxiously breaking. Forgive me if I'm a bit angry, this is just pretty frustrating for me.

What I assume is happening is that me typing out of the focus of the game is being treated like ingame input, despite the fact that the ingame settings say the game is paused when not focused on. So the game is seeing all my typing as constant game input I guess? So it just has no idea what to do with itself when it switches focus back and I often lose control to the game moving my player around or making her click even when I am not inputting anything whatsoever. Occasionally it stops itself by me alt+tabbing out and back into the game? But not always. Also this "fix" only works with the movement, while my characters constant use of items still tends to go on anyways.

Is there any sort of fix to this? Am I doing something wrong that I have no idea about? I really want to enjoy this game and from the little i've experienced so far it's fun, but this obnoxious glitch is absolutely turning me off and making this a more frustrating experience than an enjoyable one.

I've turned off the "pause when inactive" option and it seems to just barely fix it, with it not happening every single time I click off, however it still occurs on a common basis so this is less of a "fix" and more of a "sorta made it happen very slightly less but it's still here".
