Wizard did nothing when i went inside the wizard tower

So i just started playing sv for the first time, and i got a letter from the wizard to visit him, when i did he just teleported to a bench and nothing else, i had to go to bed to the next time i played the game, i went to the tower again and he now talked about what i saw at the community building. Im pretty sure this shouldnt have happened

edit: it was a bench he was just above the cauldron, also, before going there i bought the first bag pack upgrade, idk if that triggered the bug.

events with the wizard happen at different heart levels, and he wont always talk to you. You also have to collect certain items before events will happen with the wizard too.
more details are in the wiki, but i dont want to mention spoilers here.
To make friends with the wizard try giving him void essence or solar essence.

it was the very very first time you talk to him, i got a letter from him about meeting him cus i found one of those green things in the community building, and then nothing happened, restarted the game and now he talked to me. Im pretty sure it shouldnt be like that.
