No rewards for museum donations?

So I started a new game on the mining farm map thing and when I donated my first artifact to the museum (a rusty cog) it flashed the green reward text across the screen. I didn't really think anything of it and there wasn't a reward to get. When I put in the chicken statue artifact I didn't get the reward text and there was no reward even though I know that one always has one. Is this a glitch someone has encountered and fixed? I put the artifacts on that strip of shelf against the wall when you first walk into that area so I don't think it's from placing it on glitched squares.

Museum guy isn't giving you a reward, right? You have to talk to him again.

I spoke to him and he says "You have nothing to donate." Instead of giving you the option to collect a reward like he should.

I think I had that isssue too - try the next day, it might give your the reward then. I too donated the chicken statue and didn't get it until later, for some reason. Inventory editing is a last resort, but it will work if nothing else does.

I think it's just the chicken statue and you can still get it if you get another reward at some point. Weird.
