Fishing mini game bugged - Xbox One

Hi!

Been playing on Xbox one and for quite some time now, I am unable to fish anything. The bar doesn´t go up, doesn´t matter how hard I push the button or how fast. The bar just stays on the ground. Please help.

In the PC version, you have to keep pressing the button to move the bar, not smashing it again and again. If you just smash the button, you effectively hold the bar in place.

Yes I know....I have fished before, it´s just that now the minigame is impossible.

OK, I am stupid....I somehow played the fishing game right all the times before, but somehow forgot that you really need to keep the button pressed to get the bar up.

I have not caught any, mostly because they move up too fast. Then, when I get the bar up, the fish is already sinking.

You have to keep pressing the button in the PC version. Do note that the bar does not move smoothly though, but with acceleration and deceleration.

As far as I know, buying a new fishing pole does not affect the speed of fish. It allows you to use bait ( first upgrade) and a tackle (second upgrade).

There is even a chapter about Xbox controls:

When using an Xbox controller, first equip your fishing rod. Tap and hold the [X] button and release when you are ready to cast your line. Once your line is cast, immediately tap and hold the [X] button again. Once you're alerted that something has bit (an [!] icon pops up with a sound effect) then release the [X] button to load the mini-game. Tap/hold/release or quickly tap the [A] button to play the mini-game.
