Stardew Valley Alex Event Bug

[Krispy Krisps]

It's the event where Alex asks if the player thinks he can go pro. I answered the question with "Definitely" and my character is supposed to open the door and enter his room to talk further. However, my character forgot to open the door and just walks into the door endlessly. I can still skip the event but thought that the developer would like to know.
During the "select a dialogue option", I went into the steam overlay and used the browser to look at the stardew valley wiki.
Married Abigail so its not due to dating Alex.
Playing on Windows 7 (64-bit), build 1949708, full-screen.

Edit: Another Alex event started immediately afterwards where he says "You're cooler than I thought" and my character was standing in front of the door. It happened again and my character just continued walking into the door.

Edit 2: Restarted the day and didn't shift-tab during the dialogue this time. My character actually opened the door, but the first scene had different text. Instead of asking if he was able to go pro, he did the scene about the bookcase. Thinking back, it was weird how the first scene (glitched version) they were talking through a closed door at first before my character started perpetually walking into a closed door.
