Buffs and Debuffs Issue

I just noticed this a while ago.

Basically what happened is that the buff or debuff that you previously had will override the buff that you receive from consuming food or what have you. I noticed this while exploring the Skull Cavern, I appear to have been damaged for 43 Health.

That's not normal, that's 1/3 of my total Health, and twice the amount of the Serpent's base damage. So I moused-over the buff icon on my HUD and noticed the icon is for +Attack from the Roots Platter buff, but when I hover the cursor over it, it says -Defense from the Jinxed debuff, which lead to my robbery rescue from the Cave.

I've been having the Jinxed debuff for 13 minutes?

As far as I've been letting myself get hit because I'm an idiot, I noticed that this isn't constant, for instance, I receive 20 damage from the first hit, then 40 damage on the consecutive hit, it's as if the debuff lingers within me when I decide to consume food.

I've also noticed that this affects Buffs replacing Buffs as well; like I consumed the Roots Platter first, then had to consume Spicy Eel because of low health, and the Buffs DID change, but the Buff value from the first item did not change - So it felt like I went from +3 Attack to +3 Speed and +1 Luck; It made me speed all over the place for the duration of the Spicy Eel.

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me?
