Marlon Glitch

So from what I've observed, Marlon tries to come to my house and it triggers a small cutscene. The dialouge box pops up with no text and after a few seconds the game crashes. Apparently many people have had glitches with Marlon lately but it's only in the beta version; which I'm playing on.
I tried opting out of the beta but when i did and started up the game again; both of my files were basically blank on the start up screen. This made me go back to the beta version and after that, both of my files were there. But, the Marlon glitch still happens.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I think they did something to marlon cause I swear before my game crashed on spirits eve he was trying to do an animation that he never did before. It looked like he was about to do that weird HA laugh thing he does when he talks to you after your slime hutch is built

Most likely. I believe he was coming to talk to me about the slime hatch as well.

I just started a new game, beta - multiplayer, and we're crashing when we first meet Marlon in the mines, where his cut scene gives you the rusty sword. This wasn't happening a week ago - everything played out as normal then. Frustrating.

I am also getting this bug, Marlon has effectively trapped my character in her house as the game crashes and shuts down everytime his cutscene triggers.
Thinking back, the same crash happened when I tried to speak to him at the spirit eve festival. I just started avoiding him after that.

i think the developer need to fix this ASAP bc many event like talk to marlon in flower dance or his cut sence make the game crash and some people cant even continue playing due to his visit in the morning

isnt there a skip button for every cutscene?

There is, but Marlon as a whole is crashing games left and right.

I'm having the same issue with Marlon coming to my house; I'm trapped. I can't leave my house or else the dialogue box pops up after moving beside him and within a few seconds; my game has completely crashed.

This bug has been listed as a major one on the 'Stardew Valley Multiplayer Beta: Known Issues & Fixes 2' thread online. So hopefully this'll get fixed soon!

I saw there was a comment stating you could fix it by adding <eventsSeen> to an area in your backup files but you won't get the first egg from Marlon.. I'm unsure about it. I hope that they do fix it soon.

It works. I just tried it and it works. But, if you'd rather get the egg from Marlon, I suppose you'll have to wait for a bigger fix! Good luck to you all!!
