Extra Robin's Axe

When I went to pick up Robin's lost axe, there was another on the ground so I ended up with two of her lost axes. I completed the journal quest with the one axe but now I can't get rid of the weird extra one. I've tried giving her another one but then it says wrong person. I tried giving it to other people to see if that would work and it didn't. Help, how do i get rid of this extra axe??

Have you played with someone else on your farm? If the game has any record of multiplayer activity, it'll put that many axes in the world. Same with every other quest-related item.

I have been on multiplayer and have not had anyone else on my game. I have found 2 of Robin's Axes and 2 of the Mayor's Purple Shorts. When I have 2 on me Robin or Lewis only takes 1. You can't sell them or trash them or drop them. I just finally end up sticking them in a chest with fishing poles and such stuff you get stuck with.

Nope, only playing as a single player mode. I made a chest to just stick it in till it corrects itself i guess. Thanks for trying to help out ^_^

I had this same problem. I was actually able to go in and edit the save file to delete the axe. It was the only way I could figure it out. I used this guide to find the save file:

And once I found the save file, I searched for "lost axe" and deleted the accompanying code string. If you've not dealt with raw code before, the axe's entry will start with "<Item xsi:type=" and end with "</Item>".

It's a really long string of code, but once you've deleted it, the axe will no longer be in your inventory. Hope this helps.

Another way is putting it in a chest and put in a walking path of an NPC as it'll destroy it, one other way is to put it in a chest in a building you can demolish from robin. Hope that helps!

The same thing happens to me with Lewis' shorts, I have ended up with 2 pairs on all my saves since the Beta
