Gift Limit won’t reset

So I just picked my game back up because of the MP announcement. I’ve been having a great time relearning things!

I had a game in mid/late summer, year 1. I had given Leah the max presents that week already. Now it’s Fall 10, over a week later, and the game still tells me that I can’t give her gifts due to being at the max limit for the week. I checked the relationship tab, and I see her boxes are checked, along with several other folks should have had their boxes cleared out by now.

What’s up with this?

I'm having the same bug in the beta, and it's happening with 3 people for me. Marnie, Shane, and Penny specifically. The only difference with you is that i'm currently on the 20th of fall in year 3. I know it has something to do with having the max amount of gifts given, since Pam, for example, had only 1 gift given that week, and then the next week it reset for her. I read something about a temporary fix, but the bug keeps happening once you give them the max amount of gifts again so you'd have to keep doing the fix over and over, so i'm looking for a more permanent fix.

Well I've gone into my save file in notepad and edited the value. I'll report back if it works.

So, my ini file editing worked. Everything seems to have settled back the proper reset schedule. Locate your save file. Make Backups of everything, just in case. Open up both [Name]_[Numbers] and SaveGameInfo in notepad or some other text editor. Look for your target NPC's name, and GiftsThisWeek. It's as simple as setting the number in brackets following GiftsThisWeek to 0.

You can safely delete the files with "_old" appended to them. They're backup files I believe. I deleted mine, and had no problems loading. The game recreated them.

I believe that's the way I saw before, but they said it wasn't permenant. If it is though, i'll gladly do that if it pops up again

Well if the dev is aware of it, that’s good enough for me. I’m sure it will get resolved once and for all at some point.

Not sure if it's the same issue, but I did notice the gift reset seems to have moved to Monday instead of Sunday. I thought I had this bug too at first when I updated to the beta version. Have you tried waiting until Monday?

Before I resorted to editing the file, I waited well over a full week, definitely through Monday.

Everything seems to work perfectly after I edited the file.
