WASD and arrow keys do not work

I've always had problems with WASD keys for the game, binding movement to the arrow keys (though annoying) have fixed it. Now, I am not able to use either.

That's a really odd bug, have you tried binding them back to WASD? I have absolutely no idea what else you could do.

I have, its been like this since I first bought the game. uninstalling and reinstalling do not fix it

Are you using Synergy? It seems to cause issues with input.

Another program that seems to cause problems is Antilogger, besides that... maybe use a controller? I'd recommend seeing if you have any keyboard input modification programs running, and disabling them, just in case they are affecting your game.

I am also having a similar issue. Pressing the WASD keys do not work. However, holding ALT or CTRL while pressing the WASD keys does work, until I release the alt or ctrl keys - to which my character keeps going in the last direction I commanded.

The game was working fine for me, I had this glitch in the beginning. Somehow it was working again, and I had no issues up until now. Even with the most recent update, it was still running just fine.

I have a gaming laptop, not exactly sure system specs are accountable for this glitch. I should note I have a Bamboo tablet that I installed onto the system before I installed Stardew Valley, but again I'm not sure that it's the cause.

Also I have neither Synergy nor Antilogger. Unless I do and I'm not aware of it.

Have you tried playing with a controller sincce this problem arised. I am experiencing the same problem and am wondering if its just the game thinking im playing with a controller

Fix to the problem is replug your keyboard.

Hello to everyone! I'm posting this here as I had the same issue. No one tried to help, so I am posting the solution. Create a farm in a single-player world and set your controls to default (awed). Go to co-op and everything should be fine. I hope it works for you. Good luck!
