Is there some requirement to make Lingcod appear? I spent 2 entire days fishing the mountain lake and Pelican Town river and didn't catch a single one, and for the Overpopulation quest I need 10 in a week

As long as it is Winter just fish in the mountain lake or river. Any time of day and any weather. It is random if it shows up.

You'll know that you have one on the line when you see the fish go here, there, and everywhere once hooked. Those things are not happy campers.

Try spot directly south of Marnie's ranch or one that you need for glacierfish.

Below marnies ranch is good. Bring a bait maker so you can toss in the first one you catch for bait to easy hook more.
