Volcano Dungeon Question
So I made it to the forge part of the volcano dungeon on ginger island and then I teleported back home because it was close to 2am and realized I FORGOT to go through the door to unlock it! I'm probably out of luck, but does it automatically unlock once you've gotten to the forge or do I have to go through the whole thing again??

Nope. It's 10,000 for the first one, then 15,000 for the second one, 20,000 for the third and so on until you've unlocked all five.

It's actually not too bad to get all five in a short amount of time, especially if you've setup a really good farm where you can harvest a lot of crops at once.

The Mastery needed for each one increases each time you hit a Mastery milestone. My advice is don't fret too hard about it and just play the game as usual. You'll get all 5 Mastery levels eventually.

Yep, and I actually think it happened a bit too soon to be honest. I wouldn't mind a longer process. If you have a good system with crops on your farm and in the greenhouse, you can earn those points really fast. Specially combined with some mining and combat activity as well. Basically everything that yields exp will raise the bar.

Well, that IS why CA suggested people start up a new farm as opposed to going off of an old save to see the new content as it was meant to be seen instead of just blitzing through it. It is like you said, with the system I had in place for my farm and specifically Ginger Island, I hit Mastery 5 in no time at all. As it turns out, an Iridium Scythe and a LOT of Pineapples can teach you a lot of stuff.

Um, I started an entirely new playthrough (farm) when 1.6 dropped :p

Yikes! Well, my farm is fairly well set up (1300 hours in) and including Ginger Island, but I'm only interested in the forge. Will farming points (and other skills like mining) count toward those 10000 points to get the forge?

Everything you do that gives exp. counts towards mastery points. Farming, fighting, mining, forestry, fishing. You can do anything to get those 10,000 points.

Absolutely! You can earn XP in any skill and it'll count; there's no need to earn XP for each individual skill to upgrade each one. If you really wanted to just use farming XP to master every skill, you can.

Thank you everyone for your help. I think I'll go for it. Don't know why I want that damn Infinity Blade so much considering I don't really like most combat all that much, but... LOL

It's not one of the best weapons in the game for nothing though I personally use a two weapon set-up. I have the Infinity Gavel that's tweaked to make its swing speed equal to the Infinity Blade as my main weapon but when I face enemies like Skeletons, Mummies, and Shadow People, I switch to the Infinity Blade (glamoured to look like Meowmere) with Crusader on it.

It's a pretty nice set-up, heh.

Took a few days but I got the 10,000 points quicker than I actually expected. Built the forge and got the Infinity Blade. Yay! Now I just have to decide which enchantment to put on it.

Been reading up on Meowmere complaints because I was wondering if people shared their thoughts on the needless nerf of the Meowmere with it being a level 4 weapon considering the source material. My question is, if you apply the Meowmere appearance to another weapon, does the sparkle kill affect still happen?
