Volcano Dungeon Question
So I made it to the forge part of the volcano dungeon on ginger island and then I teleported back home because it was close to 2am and realized I FORGOT to go through the door to unlock it! I'm probably out of luck, but does it automatically unlock once you've gotten to the forge or do I have to go through the whole thing again??

As far as I know, it does not automatically open. Sorry!

You have to go through the dungeon again.

If you want to aim for the forge, you need to speedrun it. Otherwise 1.6 offers alternative.

At the very least, you do have the opportunity to gather up more Cinder Shards for use in the Forge during your second go of the Volcano. And trust me, you're gonna need a LOT of them if you plan on tricking out all your equipment.

What? The 1.6 update (not modded) offers an alternative other than speed running/constant fighting? Please tell, including spoilers. LOL

Have you had a look at the "mastery cavern"?

Not yet, I'm only into day 4 of my new play through. I've heard vaguely of The Mastery Cavern but know really nothing about it yet. Is it also available in my old game? And where is it in relationship to the standard farm? Thanks!

The mastery cavern for the Combat profession has a Mini Forge that works the same as the regular one in the volcano dungeon. This should apply to your old save file.

Including the Infinity Blade? And where might I find this cavern, please?

Door is on the mountain wall in the same area as the spring onions in the forest. Yes includes Infinity Blade

Here's a piece of advice that will make future runs of the volcano much easier and quicker:

The layouts only randomise at the start of every day. If you go into the volcano on a particular day then restart the day and come back, the layout will be exactly the same, allowing you to rush through it much faster as you'll know exactly what routes to take.

This way, you should have more than enough time to hit the switch at the end and unlock the shortcut back to the forge the next time around.

Also, drinking Triple Shot Espresso and eating Crab Cakes for speed buffs can help out greatly for future volcano runs.

Thank you ever so much. This old crone bows down before you. LOL Now I can continue my previous game and abandon my new one.... Only 4 in-game days into the new one but just for fun I named my character [74][74][74][74] (a cheat code) just to see what would happen as I met the other npcs asap and bought a phone and called Gus a few times. LOL

OK, I opened my previous game and found the cavern easily but I can't for the life of me figure out how to access the choices. Clicking on the link at the bottom for each does nothing. Read the note from Grandpa. Clicked on the box in the center of the cave and it says "The Final Path 0/10000" and under that it has 5 grayed out stars. Oh, and I have plenty of money so that's not the issue. Can you help further?

You gain Mastery by doing anything that would have normally given you standard XP for doing that specific task, like gaining Farming XP for harvesting crops or Combat XP for slaying monsters.

Once you reach a certain amount of Mastery, you can return to the cave and select one of the statues to obtain that specific level in Mastery. Then you just need to get more Mastery so you can get the others.

OK, For example, to get the mini forge, can I just go the the upper levels of the mines and slay the easy monsters over and over? I want that Infinity Blade, even thought I really don't need it. LOL

Thank you. Another Question about the box in the middle of the cavern that says The Final Path 1/10000 - there are 5 statues available. Is that 2000 mastery points each for a total of 10000? Or is it 10000 for each one? If that's the case I won't even bother. If it's 2000 each I might go for a couple of them.
