How to screenshot?

I used to know how but I keep forgetting. How do I capture one screen to upload?
How can I upload a whole picture of my farm?

f12 is the default steam button for taking a screenshot, which can easily be uploaded from steams screenshot manager.

for a picture of your whole farm, go to the ingame settings and scroll all the way down.


other common ways to take screenshots are pressing print screen button and pasting it into paint or other editing software.

alt printscreen for just the current active window

or windows key + shift + S for windows screenshot tool.

Strangely, for me when I hit F12 I get a black screen insert (though I do not have any mods) that has widgets on it like Hardware info, Media Control, Volume Mixer, Notes, Timer, etc.

I think this widget board was offered to me as some sort of steam in-game control board? I'd like to remove it to use F12 again, but for now F12 only displays or hides this board. I can't see any obvious way to uninstall this widget board.

Did you check your screenshot hotkeys?
Go to your settings, check the In-Game tab and check the hotkeys that the screenshots are assigned to. Then press that button during the game to take a screenshot.

From there, you can upload it to your profile from the game's main page in your library.

Okay, new twist... I can upload a screen shot now, but how do I post the screen shot to a reply on one of these threads?

there should be a link on top of the screenshot window you can just copy paste.

seems your privacy settings are already set up correctly cause i can see 60 screenshots on your profile.

i wonder if i can post your screenshots lets try

Can you be more specific about where I should see this link?

I used to know how to do this but my brain is an absolute blank. I can't see any button or obvious link to try, and copy/paste doesn't seem to work right.

Edit: Wait! I seem to have done it! But I"m not sure what I did right...

Go to your Content tab under your profile, then click on the screenshot you uploaded and copy+paste the entire link that appears on the top into a comment on this thread.

if you click the screenshot above, a window should pop up with the link at the top

that window should also pop up if you click any of the screenshots on your profile.

you are clicking the image twice.

only click once.

second click can be on the link, not the image.
