Peaceful Mode
I'll be extremely sincere now: I don't enjoy this game's combat. I like to play farming games for relaxing reasons, and I just don't play Stardew Valley as much as I wanted because of the combat. It stresses me out, gives anxiety when I'm actually trying to relax, so I end up playing other farm simulators as Story of Seasons or Harvest Moon, but I love Stardew's gameplay and characters so much, I want to continue playing.

So, I'd love to have a peaceful mode in this game. It could be something like: All the monsters on the current level would be replaced by barrels or boxes (bc we need their drops, after all), or anything like that.

What are your opinions on this? I'd love to know

I don't know about a peaceful mode like you're describing, where the enemies become barrels or boxes or whatever..

But you could use a mod like CJB Cheat Menu
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/4

And specifically only use the Infinite Health and One Hit Kill functions, Which would, at least hypothetically, take away most if not all of the stress involved as there's no risk of death (infinite health) and enemies die as quick as you can swing (One hit kill).

You can also opt out for "Wear more rings" and "Many enchantments" if you don't want to feel "cheated".

Or don't go to the mine and buy the needed ores from clint?

Hilltop Farm map has a bit of mining to it, which will eventually even include iridium deposits. Even LESS reason to go into the mines, since it also will include Geodes.

I agree. I'm old and really struggle with most combat. Never could get beyond level 5 of the volcano on Ginger Island to get to the forge before I just gave up. And I only got that far once and bought the Cinderclown shoes.

100% (Perfection) can be achieved without doing any combat in v1.6 update.
Mine dives can be completed without any combat, through liberal use of Staircases.
Volcano value is greatly exaggerated.

you can make it really easy on yourself, and just get the tractor mod, which makes you invincible on the tractor in the mines, Just zip around switching between your pickaxe and sword on the tractor and you will clear the mines in no time and without any stress.

Having recently played Littlewood, a game that lacks any form of combat entirely, I actually thought that game would've been much better off having some kind of combat system, and anyone that's explored the Dust Caverns in that game should know exactly why I feel that way. It really made me appreciate the fact that Stardew Valley even has combat at all. :kaze_hogo:

And no, it's not because of my tastes in games, because I enjoy other games, Spiritfarer being one of them, that also lack any form of combat whatsoever without any issues if they're properly built around the lack of combat. :winterbunny2023:

I played Littlewood last year and really liked it. I've considered reinstalling it but I've too many other games in my library that I haven't played yet.
