Movement: You have autorun activated? there is nothing you can do otherwise. There are two books now that increase your speed but they are pricy.
Coal: One of the first things i do is grind those dust sprites to get the burglars ring. after that
they drop so much of that stuff, that i never even need to buy coal.
In my 3 saves I also went to farm dust sprites to get burglar ring, and then they drop more coal, but I am still short of coal. Until late game when money is abundant. Guess there is nothing else to do, than grinding. Wanna start a new save, but the grinding is hard the first years or two
1. Play the forest map. It has 8 hardwood stumps that give 2 hardwood each when you axe them. Buy some wood chippers from Robin and run that hardwood through them to get regular wood, then use the regular wood to make your charcoal.
2. Similar to item 1 -- When you whack a hardwood stump, you just might get a mahogany seed. Plant some mahogany trees, preferably using tree fertilizer. When you chop down mahogany trees, you get hardwood, which you can run through a wood chipper to get regular wood. Then make charcoal.
movement speed not much to do before eel/coffee or horse. there are some new books in 1.6 that can help depending on how easy money is for you.
you can probably buy coal early game too if you spend some time fishing. using bombs can also help even tho they take coal to craft.
Watch TV every morning and when Salmonberry season hits, spend the next 3 days collecting as many as you can, that's a huge stock of energy and healing.
Movement: Early movement you're kind of stuck with.
Coal: Go kill a lot of Dust Sprits, they tend to be in the 40-60 range of the mines. Personally I think bad luck days are better for that, but ... that could just be anecdotal on my part.
it looks like a regular food buff. check the top right of your screen for a little square box to the left of the date/time, read the tooltip of that.
Then obviously salmonberries.
Otherwise you can just buy salads from the saloon. They're good for both energy and health and always available. Just don't rely on them heavily cause they're not super cheap.
For speed you can also buy coffee from the saloon. Just use them only when needed (like when you're frantically searching for that jerk who's hiding on their birthday).
idk about coal cause I never have a problem with coal. I seem to get a little bit of coal from everything, and always a surplus of hundreds. What are you doing to run out of coal... just like play the game and it rains from the sky.
if you plan to eat the crops then try to put prioritize basic fertilizer or better on them for better energy, especially flowers since they double as a generally liked gift
easy mid-late game energy sources - gold star hops / grapes, life potions (crafted or bought from a store), lots of gus salads, lots of spicy eel, crab pot fish turned into sashimi, lots of gold star common mushrooms / purple mushrooms
easy coal - go to the mines and go to floor 40, kill any dust sprites that spawn while mining iron, use ladder if you find one otherwise go to floor 0 and retry. Make Charcoal Kilns too and put them on floor 0 to fill between tries. The Quarry + Quarry Mine also spawns a lot of coal now so unlocking it is a good idea if you want easy coal. Buying it from Clint is also a good idea especially in the winter of year 1.
move speed - unless you make a lot of gold you are going to have to wait for this, you spend 15k + somewhere around 30k at the bookseller for more speed and coffee at gus's costs 300. Joja Cola can provide a speed buff too but you have to fish a lot to get these early game, you can buy them for 75 at gus's but the coffee is better value.
Mod that instantly skips to the ''you beat the game'' screen upon starting a new file when? (It's not OP it's a QOL mod, silly.)
