Getting Started quest

It says to pick up an egg after my chickens lay one. But I dont have any chickens... Shouldn't I have gotten a farming quest? Any help would be great. Thanks!

if you started on the new map you also started with a chicken coop

If you are on meadow farm, you have a coop by the road to Robin's. If not... day 1 bug.

That's not bad for day 1 bugs lol. And with this amount of content it's honestly crazy it's a free update and not paid DLC.

He means the chicken coop is near the north exit on your farm, IF it is the new meadow farm.
Getting the egg quest instead of the parsnip quest on any other farm does sound like a glitch.

Yea must be a glitch then, no chicken coop on river farm

A different thread explored this glitch. It may be connected to clickiing on the meadow farm and then choosing a different farm instead. You might want to abandon this save and restart fresh.
The egg quest should only happen on Meadow Farm. The parsnip quest is what normally happens on all other farms.

I posted this on the other thread and will post here:
I think i have a temporary solution for the bug in "getting started" quest, that on maps that are not the new Meadows one, you get the chicken quest.
I tested here, if you select the new farm, and then choose another, when creating a new char, this quest is bugged, but then i created a new char, and just clicked the standard farm rightaway, and the parnips quest appeared.
I don't know if somebody else can confirm this
