Even if the dev keep updating the game it won't bring more money from people who already bought the game almost 10 years ago.
Think about it like this, a new update comes out and an old player wants to replay and recruits friends to play with them since the game supports multiplayer. That is a potential sale from a previous one time buy customer, or if they want stardew on a different system (I own it on both Steam and Switch for example.)
Plus fostering good will from the player audience will help his future endeavors, like his new project or future projects.
When you’re making entire new games, it really doesn’t make any sense to. Stardew is feeling bloated anyway.
That’s a bad take on every level.
This game has more content in mods then we could ever play all of it. I tried, I have over 3000 hours in game, My first farm I played 18 years in game before reaching perfection. My second farm I married 21 spouses and 23 kids, I have played with over 300 mods at one time and never got thru all the content or quests.
The only thing I would really like to see added to game is for kids to grow up when you have more then 2 kids -- all the kids mod I have seen only work with 2 kids, and when I asked the mod author to make it with more kids, they banned me because they didnt know how.
this game is great for flexibility on how you play it, and I am really looking forward to his next game.
Ah yes because I only own one version of the game. Obviously. : p
Y’all need a wake up call lmao. There will come a day where Stardew will no longer be updated, and that day is soon. Concerned Ape is a single human being who has dreams and desires beyond updating one game for the rest of his life. Actually listening to him talk about game dev stuff and it sounds like he’s got a ton of ideas for things that aren’t Stardew, or even Chocolatier.
This update is like… 70% just tuning things. Like are carrots some big gamechanger that adds a whole new progression path? No not really they’re just a stealth horse buff if you think about it.
I’ve seen entire indie studios struggle to keep a game updated at a steady pace while making new ones. Will CA update two entire games after the fact? Because Haunted Chocolatier is definitely gonna get substantial post release updates. Any new ideas are gonna be absorbed by HC, since there’s no way HC will launch with as much content as SV has right now.
also why ask for another update already?! this one is so huge
1.7 - The Greed Update
*Added one additional bush to the game.
*Comes in three different color variations.
That's all folks, happy farming!
This game has been out for what . .. . 8 years?
Just how long do you expect CA to continue to provide free content updates for a game that only cost 15 bucks and that has not gone up in price in almost a decade.
Vhen grandpapa returns
dodecahedron earth
The game is complete
Use mods, I don't know
Like one farmer above me said, some people are just TOO entitled. Get over it
