Can't change resolution?

My resolution is set to the highest which makes things too small. It is grayed out. Any suggestions? Also where is my energy and health bar?

Are you playing, windowed, full screen or windowed full screen? Also what is your operating system and desktop resolution?

It is grayed out, until you change it from screen mode, then suddenly a thirth option comes, and you can adjust to any resolution.
You can also scale the UI to like 120%.

Personally I tried to force it fullscreen by editing the options in %appdata% and I set it to
borderlessfullscreen false
fullscreen true
preferred resolution x for fullscreen : 1920
preferred resolution y for fullscreen : 1080
But I can't for the love of me force it into fullscreen. And it looks horrible in 4K.

do this, go to this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley and right click StardewValley.exe and select properties,then click compatability tab above, below select change DPI settings,below put check mark in Overide High DPI Scaling box and below that select Application. click ok and then Apply. worked for me as i had same problems with games like this. should be able to reload saved game, and go to options and select full screen and then be able to select your resolution.
