Extremely disappointed in the community
For treating someone who just made a suggestion to the game because of what is probably very difficult and painful personal reasons like utter crap. Shame on you. Shame. On. You. If you don't like what this person had to say, just ignore and move on, but no, you just attack. I expected better from Concerned Ape's posse, but you are just a bunch of utter disappointments.

If you honestly think that's the only reason someone would say what I did, then it says more about YOUR character than mine.

Sure sure, more senseless garbage. There were plenty of reasonable responses on that thread that you chose to ignore and, again, reopen the topic after the mods closed it. Talking about character? Yours seems to be pretty bankrupt at the moment.

I recognize you as one of the people who ripped them apart. I will pray you learn some empathy at some point.

it's not just the stardew valley community or even the stardew community you talk of, it's the gaming community in whole, the gaming community went down hill since covid making them think they can troll with proper etiquette, then you got people who play competitive base games and those individuals (since covid) just continuously increase in toxicity. then you got the tism flex'iers who flex their austism like mindsets and beliefs/ what they think is A and or B, the list of communities goes beyond the statements above.

here's a step to deal with the (shameful) community you speak of. just don't allow their negativity to get to you. psychologically negative people create more negative people, it's like a sickness in ways. so remove all the negativity their opinions and beliefs put on you and move forward.

your thread is still in the negative and entices trolls/ brings more negativity. so the goal is to move on from such negative relations. which helps to further remove negativity.

and sidenote. you're on steam. let my rephrase that, you are on steam! the gaming platform full of trolls and toxicity, and negative mindset'ed individuals.

As I said, I AGREE that we should NOT have trigger warnings. I DO NOT agree with how people are being treated for speaking out. If you don't like what they have to say, DON'T SAY ANYTHING.

I feel like the discussion would have gone a different if the thread asked for something reasonable, like control scheme for handicapped people, colorblind mode etc. and not demanded some cringe thing like trigger warnings - which are a staple of US colleges but aren't relevant to the majority of the rest of the world.
Instead the OP claimed the majority of Stardew Valley player are either depressed or suicidal and the game dev needed to be forced to change his work based on this wrong and unsubstantiated claim.
Exactly, which was also a bit of my point. I felt they were reacting to the presence of the topics at hand instead of looking at how they were actually processed within the game, which in my opinion was done in a very light and balanced way. Such a way that wouldn't warrant a warning. The fact that other games with topics like depression and suicide comes with a label (warning) is usually because they deal with those topics on a whole different level. To the point where the actual rating of the game is also affected.

It would have been.
Demanding others to cater their inability to do basic checking, wich should be already learned if triggers are that much, instead of doing the work themself.

Versus having disability, where there is little one can do to the game themself to help with it. i don't know if there is mods that can help with them.

don't get me wrong, I understand severity of triggers and that some things can ruin days if suddently exposed to, but it is up for the person having them to check if content is safe.
I would even understand better if game was _JUST_ released and had no info, but SV has been out for years. Everything of the game is out there in the internet.

And it worries me that if people have that serious triggers, they jump on things w/o checking and making sure.

i second this!!! no one knows other peoples personal experiences and shouldn’t hand out their opinions especially if they are to ridicule them :((

1. False, I objected but I actually offered advice and support contact numbers so not only are you wrong but you're a blatant liar. Have some standards.
2. Mmm, yeah, prayers, because that's gonna change something. Putting aside the whole religious debate, how about this philosophy: "God helps those who help themselves". This logic works for both sides.

Why you bringing religion into this? It's a figure of speech. I didn't say I will "pray for you."

Not everyone is soft spoken. I think it would be empathetic to accept that. If you've been around on the internet for a while, you'll recognize a pattern. It's hard to change someones mind. If you don't like the way someone talks with you, don't engage them back (i.e. don't feed the troll). Ignoring people online is super easy, you just don't read what they wrote and it's like it never happened. ;)

Enjoy the report. Whining about another post that got locked isn't the best idea.
Satoyato 2024 年 3 月 19 日 上午 7:31
I did not see anyone excruciatingly rude. While some could have been more tactful in their approach, most were acceptable. If you are referring to those who say the game isn't in need of a warning, then you are the one being rude. The game may touch upon sensitive subjects, but they aren't that in-depth. The most the game needs is a warning on the store page.

What is the point of being bigoted?

It's a bit sad that this cast a shadow on what otherwise should be a joyus day for the community. May Yoba forgive us. Or something.
