I was expecting there to be a bunch of "who asked" or "did I ask" comments, but fortunately my expectations were wrong. Good job btw!

It's what sets the Stardew community apart. Normal communities you'd get responses like "Bruh that's not even a big deal".

But here, everyone's just happy to see other people happy.

Agreed. I haven't seen any of those infamous "pro gamers" in this community, even though they plague all of the other larger game communities to which I've paid attention.

I suppose in this case you could say the community matches the game.

That's an excellent way of phrasing that "The community matches the game"

I suspect that one reason is because this game isn't competitive, like a lot of the other big name games out there. In Stardew Valley, the players aren't all trying to beat each other. We all just enjoy the valley, each in our own ways, and cheer each other on. Because, why not? It's not like a different player can affect my progress in my own personal game.

The fact that this forum is rather actively moderated compared to most other steam forums probably also plays a role in the kind of community that it cultivates.

while we dont compete with each other, we can compete and challenge ourselves in the game. Some like to challenge to do game with low income, I challenged myself to get rich fast. I also did a challenge to marry lots of npcs -- and I married 21 of them in less then 2 years.

Every larger strictly single-player game community I've paid attention to has those people. Which doesn't make much sense, but I guess they have nothing better to do than boast online.

Very true. Active and proper moderation makes all the difference.

considering if you go down 100 floors there is a scripted chest, and 200 floors nad 300 floors but not 400 floors, 300 floors is the 'bottom' of the skull cavern with the rest being procedurally generated

Well now, that's interesting to know. I've heard that Skull Cavern is endless so I've never bothered to build/buy enough stairs beyond level 100.
I've also never gotten the Auto Petter. Do you know what floor is that found on? (and please, spoilers welcome!)

the auto petter should be on floor 100 the first time you get there, but I have seen it on other random floors. Floors 200 and 300 have 2 and 3 treasure chests respectively.
Every thing I have read says there is no bottom to skull however the deepest floor mentioned is floor level 77257. Also iridium bats become red bats at floor 880 and have twice the health and speed for attacking you.

Now you may ask how does anyone ever get that low??? Well there are 3 ways to help yourself win in the Skull cavern.
1. the Skull Cavern elevator mod lets you return to any floor you were on in a previous visit. So if you get to floor 80 on a Tuesday, and you return on Thursday, you can take the elevator down and start again at floor 80 and carry on from there.
2. The Tractor mod - yes you can take your tractor into the mines! The tractor lets you zip thru the mine gathering as you go and makes you Invincible so you can kill all those mobs before they even have a chance to hurt you.
3. The CBJ Cheat mod lets you play with time -- I always have mine set to time STOPS while I am in the mines, so I can slay and gather as much as I want to , until my pack gets full.

Do these all work?? Yes they do, I personally have been to floor 1700 in the cavern, and by the way, once you get past floor 300 the amount of iridium you find increases dramatically -- a easy way to get rich selling bars.
