Dwarf Hearts wont go up ?

Im in my 2nd year of winter, i talk to the dwarf daily, i give him all the gifts he likes (random artifacts and diamonds) twice a week for since summer straight now but still no progress ? This is seriously blocking my progression since i can't unlock the dwarf shop and made gathering bombs for skull cavern dives alot more difficult, Does anybody know a way to fix this problem ?

without the dwarf translation he doesn't get hearts for gifts no. you need to find the 4 dwarf scrolls first and donate them to the museum and pick up the dwarven dictionary.

you don't need hearts to use his shop, just the 4 dwarf scrolls donated to the museum

you could alternatively buy bombs from the desert trader if you want to dedicate alot of crystalariums to quartz.

you don't really NEED bombs to do skull cavern if you enchant your sword with crusader.

theres a second dwarf in floor five on the ginger island volcano, unsure if that one needs a translation, who also sells bombs. according to the wiki, he also needs the dwarven translation guide

ive found the 1-3rd scrolls but i haven't found the 4th one

also to unlock ginger island, i need about 5 iridium bars which is hard to obtain without doing skull caverns, and even though i already have the galaxy sword its still really difficult for me to get 5 iridium bars with my limited supply of bombs. And i considering the stage of the game, crystalariums are really expensive for me

try to find 4th scroll by digging the soil from floor 102 or 103? I don't remember which one that have a big land to dig on the center of the map.
Also don't u have a crystalariums from completing one of the bundle for community center? Just put quartz on them and then trade quartz with desert trader for bomb. Quartz is really fast to collect from crystalariums.
