Maybe it's the tree! O.O
I wonder if Queen Neferneferuaten is somehow spying through that tree
or tryed to sling it? preferable with explosive ammo?
And even if newer save files have gotten rid of these things, there might still be some traces left from older save files.
But that's just an idea, so could be something different as well^^
I'm friends with them both so I would not mind if that's the case lol
I'd love to know for sure! It just really puzzled me to encounter something ingame that was not talked about on the wiki or anywhere else. If it is not a bug and it is actually something hidden we don't know about yet, I'd be thrilled. We also haven't had something that shoots from afar without our control like the Ice Rod until 1.6 update, so I now wonder if it's always been like this or if it's new.
The first, is that since you say you have a slime hutch, maybe somewhere along the line a slime glitched out of the hutch and the game just stuck it at map coords 0,0 not really knowing what else to do with it.
The second, is that this is where the developers put a spawn point for if you have monster spawns enabled. It was probably done a long time ago, well before trinkets were added, and completely slipped everyone's mind to check that one corner. Even if you don't have monsters enabled, they may still be up there, just inactive. The Wiki is having a little lie down meaning I can't really refresh my memory regarding how the monster attacks work, so take with an appropriate sized grain of salt.
Edit: Have you tried switching to the trinket that attacks enemies? I forget what it's called now, but if it's like a glitched out slime you could potentially kill it and solve the mystery.
1: If you dont know mods, create a back up of your main SDV folder and install this mod with the instructions provided: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3900?tab=files
You can then test by going out of bounds to the location and simply either remove the mods or delete the entire folder and replace it with your backup folder.
2: If you you dont want to install SMAPi then just create a backup of your game folder, and download the above mod and unzip and put the files directly n the main game folder overwriting all, with no need then for SMAPI, test by going out of bounds to the location then you can delete the folder and replace with yous backup.
3: If you do not want to do the above 2, can you place a mega bomb to see if it destroys the tree blocking the line of sight, or a slingshot with exploding ammo etc.
If you quit the game without going to bed, you can always restart the day so its no problem to use a mega bomb.
Otherwise you will never know
I doubt about the slimes, as I have them locked with fences within the slime hutch and they've never been out, not in the farm nor in the town. The spawn point theory makes sense, I've heard others think it might be the case. I've been experiencing the Wiki being down too, hope they fix it soon. And yes, I've tried the magic quiver as well as the frog, but they don't react to it like the ice rod does. Also, slingshot does not work, as the shots are contained within the border of the farm and does not go outside. So I can't really damage it.
Thank you for the mod link! I will put it to the test later. I was worried about mods corrupting my file somehow, I'm really attached to that save and didn't want to risk it. But with a backup it could work.
I don't really know about the megabomb; as I said before, the slingshot with explosive ammo did not do anything. The explosion and damage are contained within the borders of the farm. But I will give it a try anyway. And about the line of sight, it's more of a game limitation, but the screeshots are a workaround as they go a bit further. I guess with the mod I will go even further.
Providing you either simply dont sleep/pass out which causes your save game to overwrite then mods pose no risk to the save but it never hurts to just copy/paste the save file location aswell.
If it isn't then it is of no concern to anybody since it is just caused by an out of date save and totally normal.
