Can't find mods folder

Hi I've downloaded smapi and all my mods through curseforge work fine but I'm trying to get a new texture mod from nexus and online it says to put it into the mods folder but i went into my stardew contents in finder and i dont have a mods folder?? im so confused because it says it should be in the MacOS folder but the only thing thats in there is "run.sh" which i think is the thing to run the game?? please help

if you haven't started the game since installing SMAPI, do that first. most of the time that will create any missing folders.

the mod folder should be ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Stardew Valley/Contents/MacOS

if that doesn't do it, some mod managers put the mods in their own little separated folder so the main game files stay pristine. see if there is a "go to folder" button in curseforge somewhere. but i havent used it in a couple years so no clue if they do it that way or not.
