my favorite spot in general for aesthetics is the lake behind robins
I hate fishing.
You can put chests down near where you fish. As of 1.6, villagers are supposed to simply push them out of the way (if there's a chest placed in the way).
The wiki USED to have specific pathing data for each zone, but ... someone felt it was no longer necessary as of 1.6+ and removed it.
There's still this post though: https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/1cefq7e/stardew_valley_villager_paths_16_updated/
There are a few others here: https://wckdy.com/stardew-valley-villager-paths/
i also try to get the other fish as well as the one during rainyday with the exeption of Legend for.
still ocean is a good starter place fo selling of due to limited inventory space and for other nesessitys that can help out in fishing
during summer i like fish in the mountain lake usualy for largemouth bass and if it rains i go for carfish in the rivers
i tend not to to prioritice ocean inless im close to max fishing level thanks to pufferfish, eel supercucumber a octopus and (Legendary crimsonfish)
this is where all complains about leveling fishing skill is to hard comes in LOL 🤣
no idea what they talk about its easy!
junimoschart is hard (frankly its nearly 99% impossible)
Hence my linking pathing maps, so that you can place your chests where it won't be an issue.
