6 different types of fruit tree sold at the shop only 2 have fruit in spring 2 in summer and 2 in fall you have to read the text on the item to see which ones can have fruit and it takes a full 28 days of growing before they can have fruit

It takes 28 days for trees to reach production as long as the 8 tiles surrounding them are clear. If they get blocked, a message will appear so you can clear it.

Once trees are mature, they'll only produce fruit during their growing season, as follows:

Spring: Apricot & cherry
Summer: Banana, Mango, Orange, Peach
Fall: Apple, Pomegranate

Trees will produce year round if they're planted in the greenhouse or on ginger island.

Actually Fruit trees do grow in the Winter. I always saved money to buy my first cherry and apricot tree by the fall in year 1, and I have seen them grow through the winter. Just make sure there is 8 free spaces around each tree. I've also gotten the mango and banana trees on Ginger island during the winter and saw them grow on my island.

Yes. Even weirder is that they will grow through the tiles along the edge of the greenhouse too, so you can leave the soil for actual crops.
