Infuriating controller issue!!

Ok I have been on layoff for a couple weeks so I have been playing the crap out of this. One thing that seems to happen 1636373897736 times a day is getting the popup eat xx item?? Wow it is so infuriating I have almost rage quit several times.

Is there any way to make it you have to push two buttons to eat something?? Like on my xbox controller make it be A+right trigger or something similar. This is just maddening!!

do you also get accidental tool uses if you have tool selected? if so you might need to clean your controller.

Sound like a hardware issue. I'd try switching between bluetooth and usb connections to see if it clears up. If it does, the method you switched from is the culprit. If it doesn't it means you need to clean and or change out the button contacts.

This isn't a hardware issue it's an issue with the game. When you have an item selected on your active bar, say putting milk into the cheese press, if you push the action button and you are not directly in front of an empty cheese press it tries to eat the item. A simple fix would be to make it take a second different button push to eat the item instead of always trying to eat it if there is no place for it to be used.

Another place this is an issue if you pick something up, say a crop, and you have an empty space on your bar it automatically makes what you pick up active. Then when you press the action button again, usually very rapidly to pick the next crop once again it tries to eat it.

I cant use mods unfortunately.

There's no need to press the action button "again", just keep holding it and run over everything and you'll never get that question until you release the button again. Works on processing objects as well btw.

Because you're playing multiplayer? Most mods don't need to be shared with others, especially when it's only changing stuff client side like removing this questions or adding hot keys.

Uhhhh just put your pickaxe or something else inedible in your hands? Or use the "put item away" option in settings (you press Y on switch to stop holding items over your head, then you won't use them by mistake)

Great tip to take the only item in your hand that can destroy any crop by accidentally using it.

I don't have a PC. I play on my TV through Geforce Now, cloud gaming. It works surprisingly well for what it is, but there are limitations.

I said "or something else". Think.

Also, the "check" button is different from the "use tool" button. If you press A with a pickaxe equipped, it won't swing.

If you have anything BESIDES food selected, it won't prompt you to eat it. Or if you stow the item, you can continually pick crops without the prompt showing up.

Don't worry. I agree with you. Just ignore them.
My issue is rather on there is no option to stop defending with Sword, and the mod link I got is broken. So everytime my Sword is selected instead of Pickaxe (can accidentally maul stuff), I keep defending. XD
