Any way to see experience?

To be precise - how much experience do I need to level up a skill.
Not counting mods. I should get a few, but perhaps not on this run yet

Hi there,
you can find the experience points needed for each level up here https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Skills but the game itself won't show you how much exp which action gives you. Scrolling down on this page will give you more information on exp amounts, but will also spoil you on level up rewards.
I can recommend the mod "UI Info Suite 2", when you decide to dabble in modding later on. It's a great quality of life mod that will show you pretty much everything you need to know, from daily luck and current birthdays, to which items are still needed for the museum

without mods the only way is to manually count/keep track of the things you do.

your character will say they have something to sleep on whenever you level up, so there is at least an indicator for that.

Just one small correction. The "You've got some new ideas to sleep on" message only shows up for the first level up per day, which is still better than having to check your skills window in case you're close to passing out
