How much the game has changed?
Hello!

I've played Stardew Valley some years ago, not long after the launch, I think. As far as I'm aware there has been some updates, like multiplayer for example. I played the game for about 70 hours and decided I've had enough fun.

Recently I've had an urge to play again, but after few in-game days I'm questioning if I want to play the same game again. I feel like I've exhausted all the fun from the original game.

Is there much more content then when the game has launched? Am I going to experience new content or new updates were mostly easter eggs, new farm, items and so on?

If you don't enjoy playing the game, what will the knowledge of new content after 50+ hours change?

There isn't any significant changes before you did the Community Center/Jojo Mart.

That's not exactly what they said though.

Playing the game "some years ago" and shortly after launch might mean that they got their hours of fun when the game was still in version 1.0 - 1.1 and if that is the case, A LOT has indeed happened since then. I would encourage the OP to read through this page:

And if you don't want to read through all the changes the game has undergone throughout the years, then why not dive right back into it? To answer your question at the end of your post: Yes, there is A LOT more content compared to when the game had just launched. And if you managed to enjoy yourself for 70 hours back then, there is a good chance you will enjoy just as many hours again, if not more. I hope this helps :stardrop:
I would say the bulk of the additional content is for later in the game, i.e. after you've completed a couple of in-game years. The Ginger Island area is the biggest update in terms of really "changing" the game and it's not accessible until quite late on.

Aside from the new items and farm types there are a couple of new festivals that occur throughout the year, but most of the extra content is item-based. There's not really much change to the story than when the game first came out.

Personally I played the game for 90 or so hours when it first came out, and went back to play again some years later and found I enjoyed it just as much as the first time around. But if you feel you've got enough out of it I wouldn't say it's changed so much that it's worth playing again as though for the first time.
Thanks!

I've checked the changelog and indeed there's a lot of changes. It's been w while since I've played similiar game and I'm gonnna give it some more time and maybe I'll click, like it did years ago.

A lot. :poemg:

1.5 introduced Ginger Island which is where all the post-game content can now be found. There's so much to do on the island, it almost feels like its own standalone expansion pack that was given to all players. Without spoiling too much, this is also home to the 100% completion checklist, so you'll find yourself pretty busy for a long time if you have that completionist urge. :wumpafruit:

There were also quite a few major additions to 1.6, but some of the ones that stand out to me are the Prize Ticket system in Lewis' house as a way to incentivise players to complete the jobs posted on the board (you get 1 prize ticket for completing 3 of the small jobs posted outside Pierre's General Store, and 1 from completing a Special Orders job) and the Desert Festival that takes place for 3 days during Spring. :winterpresent2023:
I have written changes in Stardew Valley a while ago. But mostly just simplified version and emphasis on 1.6, which made snowballing in early game much easier. If you need it:

Thank you so much for that link. I haven't played this game since 2018 and was wondering to buy the game for a friend for a co-op session and this list helps a lot.

Seems there's been a lot of different kinds of stuff been added or changed since then.
Can't wait to see what's up.
