How to deliver an item to a npc if that npc is staying in their room?
I got an item npc wants. I come to their home, but npc is in their private room and not coming out.
The logical thing is to either knock the door or to ask someone else at home to call them, but ... I have no idea how or is it even possible.

I'm supposed to know when all npcs are awailable before taking the task?

Yes, each NPC has different schedule depending on the time/season/weather and after certain events they will have new schedules.
Unless you have befriended them ( have at least a heart, i think) you have to wait for them to get out of the room to deliver the item.
You can place a chair right next to the door, sit on it and get off to enter their room
Reqires 2 hearts to enter room/house. Visiting the saloon in the evening is a good way to get people who are otherwise in their houses when you're still in the early game (Leah and the like).

I just do not see the logic.
The NPC posted the request for delivery. The timeframe is about 2 days, but no exact time, not even a standard "business hours only" clause.
The seller comes with the goods, enters the house (and that is somehow allowed).
But there is no way to call the customer out of his room.
Do they really need what they ordered?
I'm not going to level "hearts" with anyone, I have a lot of work to do on the farm.

It's intentional to push you towards actually engaging with people, giving them gifts, and raising friendship levels. Sure, it doesn't make sense, but that's often true of game mechanics that are intended more for balance or progression.

Because it's a GAME.

You're completing a game quest, despite appearances (and the item vanishing from your inventory), you're NOT really delivering anything. The quest is to manage to make your schedule coincide with theirs.

Real world logic is only of limited use when considering how game-logic functions.

The aesthetic, the story is that you're delivering a good they wanted. The game quest is that you're tracking down a mobile target with a variable schedule, while on a timer.

And raising Hearts with villagers is part of the game as well. This is a community game, you're supposed to be ingratiating yourself with the local community. That means making friends, doing favors for people, providing goods and services.

Knocking on a door during such a quest to get the NPC to show up isn't implemented and a too late = going to sleep deadline exists.

I agree with you. I can understand the shop closure, but not on the doorstep delivery restriction. Some villagers such as Sebastian and Elliott spend a lot of time behind their private place, which is why it's better to just avoid those quest.

However, I do not like the idea of barging inside stranger's private place during early morning or late night, just like in Fields of Mistria. Except a specific late game Power.

In 1.6, the new events are well designed to not force player ends at night. We do have Price Ticket machine in 1.6 to compensate the loss, so I won't say it is the worst case scenario for "Help Wanted" board. You just have to avoid some names or pesky quests, as they have not been changed. (Sadly)

Actually no, as a first timer. It can be annoying and interesting at the same time, when you discovered those.

That's the point of "Help Wanted" board at the first place! Especially when new player do not know what time Sebastian stay longer at outside!
You can find most of the NPCs gathered at the pub during the evening. Like it's mentioned above, everyone in town has their own life schedule. I think on Wednesday all the adult women like to go to Pierre's shop and work out during the afternoon.

The game is really designed well to reflect the reality that everyone in the community has their own life that they are living.

If your crunched for time and don't want to cheese it, just hang out for a couple in game hours and they will leave the bedroom eventually.

Once you have a couple hearts with everyone it will not be an issue, as you will be welcome to enter their bedrooms. Until then, you're kind of a stranger though, so you'll need to speak with them often or give them gifts they like to increase your friendship.

During events make sure to walk around and speak to everyone present. That's a good way at the beginning to help get those early friendship hearts.
