Please Help My Chickens :'(
Idk why but my chickens aren't eating or happy! I have a silo that's almost full, there's hay in the feeding thing because I can take it out and put it back, they aren't laying eggs and when I right click on them there's squiggles over their heads and the info says one's grumpy and one's looking thin and they have no hearts :( Its winter so they cant go outside idk what else to do! :'(

did you put the hay on the bench thing? you could also open the little door next to the real door (from outsides) and let them outside to eat grass

To add up, later you can upgrade your barn and coop to automatic feed.

However, it's very late game and resource intensified. So I recommend go full upgrade one by one, instead having too much barn and coops in winter.

just in case - during all season except winter you can open a small door in your coop to let animals roam freely and eat grass. This way you don't need to manually feed them. As far as I know you can let them go anywhere but I prefer to fence a big outdour area for them. Just make sure there is actually grass there

Until you achieve perfection I think Eggs in the coup are mainly for finishing the community center and cooking.

I got an auto petter and auto grabber and I don't think I've been in there in over a year.

they probably don't justify the space on the farm for feed. from a purely monetary standpoint.

the golden chicken eggs however are reasonably worthwhile.

I went with fish ponds on my farm this time. I have 5 level 10 lava eel ponds with golden crackers, and 4 legend 2 fish ponds with golden crackers. the money they generate is not completely terrible.

Heater influences their mood. Mood can influence quality and size of animal products.

The OP also did not mention petting their chickens.
