If you luck out and get Pierre's villager shop you can buy like 200 of them for 150g each. The second best source is the skull cavern, if you're a fast fighter, you can get tons of them by going down levels, killing monsters and activating those pillar things. The best setup I've found was a crit build crusader galaxy hammer, tons of bombs, the healing trinket and as many luck and speed buffs as you can find. Focus mostly on going down and activating pillars. If you have monster musk, wait to use it on the lower levels with a higher egg rating. Monsters are more worthwhile to kill at that point whereas they're more of an impediment early on.
