why can't i date the wizard
it says "you cannot date the wizard" when i try to give him flowers. I have achieved the heart level.

You cannot romance the wizard in the base game. However, there is a mod to do this- "Romanceable Rasmodius" by WerewolfMaster on NexusMods (link here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3073?tab=files)

There's a specific list of characters that can be dated/married. All of them have the 9th & 10th hearts locked until you have begun dating them. Any character that has the last two hearts display as normal is not a bachelor/bachelorette.

(The closest thing to an exception is a certain character you can become platonic life partners with, but, like, whatever, that's written differently, so it gets to treat hearts differently.

Yeah, the base game has a limited number of "marriagable" candidates, the Wizard is not one of them.
