I suggest giving 25 really inexpensive gold star produce, like wheat. Something that grows fast, and that you can have a lot of. You don't get a better price for better produce. You just get the 2500 he promised.
Its only a scam when you pick an expensive crop.
Other quests might say you will be paid the value of the crop, or 2x the value of the crop. Or might say you get to keep the quest item after turning in the quest. You need to look for those type of explanations before assuming anything like that would be there.
Edit I just checked both the board and my quest log. I see no mention of payout on either.
And as a tip: Always check on a monday, because thats when new contracts are comming out. Also be sure you have the maximum of time for the order
Fair enough but it says vegetables and I don't think wheat counts since the quest wants vegetables not grain
I harvested like 18 gold star cranberries first harvest and got like no progress towards the 25 with that
Ok fair enough, didnt know 2500 isnt written there. I was also pretty sure it was.
Otherwise, most quests aren't really worth it for the money, but you often get a recipe or an object the first time, which still makes it worth doing everything at least once.
You do the quests for a number of reasons. The money is nothing. Money literally grows on trees in this game. It drops straight out of the ground. You pick it up literally just wandering around town.
What you want is the prize tickets for high value items, the social rewards in friendship hearts, and the weekly quests which often have cutscenes or advance the story in some way.
Don't worry about the money. There are more important rewards to be had.
Oh gosh! I'm sorry then, I didn't understand. I checked the Wiki for the information I had, and didn't realize it wasn't posted on the in-game quest.
I pretty much live on the Wiki and check it for everything. I guess I forget what parts are only posted there as opposed to being visible in game.
Understandandable confusion! But I've definitely used wheat before and it works. You can always check by looking at the in-game description of the item when you hover on it. It'll say what category it belongs to, if any, like fish, forage, vegetable, trash, etc.
It's classified as an egg on its item description, but as of 1.6.2 Void Eggs are poisonous and will drain your energy if you eat one, yet he will still gladly accept them anyway.
The community center is worth 3 points (completing it is 1, watching the cutscene is 2 points). You only need 12 points to 'complete' the evaluation.
You can get 7 points by getting a million gold.
You get 2 points for hitting level 10 in all skills.
Getting your pet to love you is 1 point.
Getting the skull key is 1 point, the rusty key (museum) is also 1 point.
Getting married and upgrading your house twice (kitchen and nursery) is 1 point.
You get a point each for getting 5 and 10 villagers to 8-heart relationships.
Catching all fish is 1 point.
Completing the museum is 1 point.
Shipping every item is 1 point.
It's pretty easy to completely ignore the CC and still get a 'max' score on your evaluation. You can also trigger a new evaluation at any time by feeding Grandpa's Shrine a diamond. You can relax a little, there's plenty of wiggle room.
