Audio gone when unplugging headset

So I started the game with USB headsets plugged in, I decided to take off the headset and unplugged it but now the audio for Stardew has completely gone, all other sounds on the pc are working fine but nothing for Stardew. I read that this should have been fixed in 1.5.5 but I don't see anything in the options menu and my game sound has totally gone. It's not even showing in the volume mixer.
Has anyone else had this issue or knows of a fix?

Does it persist after you restart the game? IIRC, SDV really doesn't like mid-game audio device changes, but restarting should fix things.

It comes back after restarting the game, I was a bit confused as I was half way through a ingame day and didn't want to lose the progress, I just kept playing without sound until time to sleep so it saved and I could restart.
A little annoying if you decide to take off your headset, but no big deal, thanks for the reply anyway.

Same, but in my case all my output jacks have bad contact so they ocasionally unplug the headset... In many games that's not a problem for me because the audio immediatelly starts to function and the problem isn't that very often. But on Stardew Valley the sound doesn't return, and it's really annoying. I'm a returning player and guess I'll have to wait for a patch :(

In any case someone undig it, like me rn, I just encountered this problem and it even completely bugged my headphones itself, even after restart they had problems to be detected no matter if Stardew was on and I had to delete driver in Device Manager for it to restart. But Stardew still doesnt respond to change from headphones on and off, Hard to say if I ever had this bug, cuz I dont usually play with headphones in Stardew.

I watch tv with my son while I play most of the time, so I always have sound off anyway.
