That is a functional impossibility until all platforms are on the same game version at the same time. As Consoles tend to be 4-6 months behind in updates because of code vetting it is highly improbable that it will ever happen.

Calhoun seems to be wrong - I just tested it myself and it seems unfinished but working. You can at least play on Android connecting to a pc host. https://www.stardewvalley.net/mobile-multiplayer-guide/

Please note that back on Jan 6th when I posted the only platform that had the 1.6 updates was pc. So no I was not wrong. At that time the best estimate of 1.6 hitting other platforms was late March at the earliest.
