I hate RNG in games. Legendary fish quest.

There is this quest to catch legendary fish spawn. It's ANNOYING to say at least.
I caught ALL fish except one at the very first try, so don't tell me it's a skill issue. I've spent half a day to drag cheap fish, broken glasses and trash piles from the last point.

In the cases like this games should question player's skill, not my computer's RNG possibilities. Why couldn't the devs put some sort of a fishing tackle for legendary fish? For example the one that makes fishing reticle smaller, costs like 50k gold, but makes it extremely attractive for legendary fish?

No way I'd recommend Stardew valley after a spit in my face like this...

legendary fish chances are pretty high? like at least 10% orso? double with curiosity lure. getting them to show up has never been my problem with catching them.

if you don't get them to bite for half a day it might be a skill issue in the sense that you might be fishing at the wrong spot.

also don't forget that the fishing bar has a little hat on it when it's a legendary fish.

No, it hasn't when you fish for legendary fish SIBLINGS (spawn) as I said earlier.
Some sort of minor SPOILER about fishing:
Like Glacierfish Junior, or Ms. Angler. The last one I couldn't get my hands on was Radioactive carp in the place where I caught Mutant carp earlier - the Sewer.
So yeah, tell me it's a skill issue. It literally comes to RNG in the quests like this, especially when Luck parameter of the day is the lowest. (unfortunately I didn't put my lucky rings on)

Curiosity lure doesn't work neither as legendary siblings are not considered 'legendary' in game.

just restart the day then if you somehow didn't get a 20% bite chance for the entire day.

luck only affects treasure boxes.

the quest is also only 3 days iirc, instead of the usual 7 days. so maybe you just started too late.

I took the quest at the end of the day, so I had two days really. Got two fish at the first day, then two at the second. Stuck on the last one.
Sucks to be me, I guess.

The game lost it charm really quickly. RNG based games suck.

eh. it's a very very optional quest offered at the very very endgame.
usually the other quest offered has a better reward too.

prismatic jelly is much worse if you ask me, and that has an actual reward tied to it.

marble brazier was also a bit of a gut punch.

It's something out of my power... I was extremely charmed for 150 hours straight, but this was so unpredictably unfair, I literally can't play SW again.

To be blunt, that sounds unbelievably petty. Literally not able to play the game that you enjoyed for 150 hours over like 40 minutes of frustration? I'd suggest just moving on and continuing to enjoy this fantastic game.

Yeah, RNG for situations like this is kind of dumb and definitely hinders my enjoyment of the game in that very particular moment in time, but game ruining? Far from it. The rest of the game as a whole is fantastic and you should not let one negative aspect of a game ruin the whole thing for you.

Especially when the very quest you're trying to complete is not only optional, but will eventually come back after some time has passed should you need to try again.

using different baits helped and eating the food to boost fishing that day
