Wine, casks, and kegs
Why do high end or high efficentcy farms have so many kegs scattered everywhere? You can only have 189 casks in the basement. Than takes 2 blasted months to get them to iridium. So why kegs?
I have the ginger farm growing about 500 (not sure the exact, guess i could/should build a comp for that farm).

Some people have mods that either expand the basement or allow them to put casks in other locations.

For myself (not using mods for cask expansion), it's a matter of revenue stream; I try to make it so that some of the casks finish each week around the same time the wine does, and then about a third of my wine from the kegs goes into the casks, and the other gets sold for a direct cash infusion.

or if you want to mod to clean up your farm, try the following mods:
Creative Warehouse shed
Pookachu's cellar
Advanced Casks

that will give you a large cellar, a huge shed, and the ability to put kegs and casks anywhere.
I dont have any outside around my farm, everything is in the warehouse.

Kegs, even without caskets to age them, are key to making $$$.

The highest profit per day comes from turning hops into pale ale, but you need two kegs for every 1 hops to maximize it, since hops grow once per day, but pale ale takes 1.5 days to brew.

Vanilla farm, 1000 Ancient Fruit trees, 500 kegs, Artisan Profession.
1.155 million every 7 days, all year long. The cellar is just a bonus at this point.

kegs are also useful for things that do not need to be aged, like coffee.
