Remap controller buttons?

Playing with a switch controller and I would desperately like to remap the 4 buttons, y,x,b,a on the right side of the controller. Tried doing it in settings but it keeps telling me the buttons are already in use. Is there any way to remap controller buttons on steam?

if you are on computer then go to your library right click the game go properties>Controller then set 'overide for stardew valley to enabe steam input and then in the gray text click 'controller configurator'

if you are on steam deck select the game in our library and to the far right of the play button there will be a controller icon, click that then press edit
