edit: to clarify, the lighter grey boulders are the ones that take two hits to break with the default axe.

Gosh, that's so weird that you get no xp from boulders. You would think they should give a LOT of xp. But at least they do give a generous amount of rock.
On the farm, ALL rocks award xp except for the big boulders.
Maybe you would consider stone to be an ore. I usually think of those light gray rocks as "Rock Ore Nodes", because they are affected by the perk that gives you extra ores.
Which isn't much of a problem, but it's still something worth pointing out.
No, Radiosity is correct. Only the grey stone that needs 2 hits with the default pickaxe gives experience when it drops nothing but stone, anything that drops 1 stone and nothing else will give no experience.
I really swear i did see it before. Maybe it changed recently? But no, I'd better not check in case it can be proved that it has not ever changed. Chalk it up to the mandela effect.
