Need help setting up mods

I downloaded SMAPI and followed the instructions. When I launch the app its still vanilla. The mods I downloaded are in a mods folder located inside the SMAPI file. Can anyone help me please. Stardew valley already has the command code. None of the mods i download are appearing in the game.

if you are launching through steam, you need to put in the command line options in the steam settings.

I stated that I already did. I followed all the instructions that SMAPI told me to do. It launches fine, none of my mods show when i launch it.

mods should go into steam/steamapps/comon/stardew valley/Mods, not the smapi folder.

if there is no mods folder, make one in the same spot where the stardewvalley.exe is .

I dont have a steam file. just a shortcut to steam and steam games.

right click stardew in steam client > properties > installed files > browse.

the folder that opens up should have stardewvalley.exe in it. this folder should also have a Mods folder, if not make it and put your mods in there.


and just for the record: when you launch the game through steam, the black SMAPI window appears right?


if you can't figure it out consider asking a friend for help, you can share your screen with them through e.g. discord and then they can see whats going wrong.
