Gold Clock is Loafing on the Job!
I just bought the gold clock on my most recent farm. For the first time, it's not doing it's job. I still have weeds popping up everywhere. Has anyone else experienced this?

guess thats because you can plant weeds now after one of the newer patches, so its a resource like gras and no debri any longer.

Noooo! I hate how the weeds eat into my expensive crops! Well, thanks for answering.

That does seem weird, since I'm pretty sure the description still explicitly mentions weeds, and weeds can actually cause you issues.

That's for sure. They eat right into my pineapples and ancient fruit. And it's hard to go to the island every day to check on weed growth. That's why I love that ugly clock! LOL!

Hmm. Wiki does say it should affect the island too[stardewvalleywiki.com] so that's strange. And Fibre Seeds are different to spawned weeds so that shouldn't be it. Maybe you could try moving the clock around a bit at Robin the Carpenter's or something?

or make a wall of tea bushes around your crops weeds cant do crap to them
glyntowen 13/jan./2023 às 3:55
my understanding was it only affects spawns from after it was placed, so if there were any debris already on the ground on the day you purchased it, that would continue to spawn \ multiply

I've recently bought it on my latest save and I'm not seeing any debris on my farm or on ginger island

err sugar that must be a error in the wiki.
if TS spoke about GI and not his farm than all is fine, because clock dont works there, so works as intended.
The clock itself also state this. explanation texts only mentations your farm, not farmS, not GI.

The clocks have always helped my Ginger Island farm too. If that's not how it's supposed to work, I can't explain it!

I stopped the spread of fibre on the Ginger Island farm simply by tilling every single tile and planting something on all the tilled soil, while leaving some for my sprinklers. I remember the spread stopping once I did this, even before I installed a Gold Clock on the main farm.

The text was just never updated; the fact that the wiki states it does, twice, seems like an unlikely mistake. It is supposed to effect both.

The clock was always a prestige thing for me to show "look how I can throw away 10 million on something that basically has no benefit whatsoever". Hardwood fences and a filled farm of ancient fruit. It's usually the last purchase shortly before I stop playing, but in this run I still have a huge farm to finish making use of and have 10 million gold to spend. Also Stardew Valley Expanded still has some more content for me to discover.

Our views about the clock are almost opposite! LOL! I think it's hideous and would much prefer a more realistic old-fashioned-looking farm. I only plop down that 10 million to save my crops (and obtain the perfection status). It's def. a game that people can enjoy in a multitude of ways, isn't it?
