Been working on this quest for the past 4 days. Have collected a whopping 20 bones... What am i doing wrong? Doing the 70-80 ish levels of the cave. Do you have to have the sandy shores area unlocked or what?

You just repeat the levels with the skeletons over and over again. They reset on the same day.

When or how do you reset them? I left the mines and came back (with no time passing, granted) with out them reseting.

Use the elevator to go to level 70. Then make your way down to level 80. Then use the elevator on level 80 to got back to level 70. It takes about two levels down for the levels to reset. So the levels should reset at 73.

I always put that one off until I get to the island and can reach the area with the bone nodes. Keep clearing the clay so that the bone nodes can take over the area, then you have plenty to mine for the quest. Going into the mines to fight skeletons can help fill out the rest of the count if you don't get enough from the nodes.

If you've already completed the Prismatic Jelly quest for the Wizard, using Monster Musk will ensure lots of skeletons spawn on those levels. That, and/or the Burglar Ring you get as the reward for killing 500 Dust Sprites. It's doable without those things, but either one makes it much easier.

wasnt that the quest easily done in 1-2 days by just mining away in the ginger island quandry area? a few of this stones that include bones and the drops is eaten.

Seriously I've never had an issue with this mission. I just use levels 70 - 79 and it takes about 4 days. The dungeon levels all seem to reset though I usually pop out and visit the guild to sell off bone swords.
