No iridium node in 1.5?

Since last update to 1.5 I wasn't able to find any iridium node in the mine, actually nowhere at all. Found only few ore in some geodes, but nothing in the mine. Oh and not a single prismatic shard (trying hard now with a few ponds).

Details about my game:
- started a new game after 1.5 release
- beach house map
- finished 2nd year
- mined in the cave a million times, especially bottom levels, few levels in the skull cave and cleared quarry often.

Anyone else experienced that? Please help if you can.

Am I being very stupid and missed something or am I being punished? very frustrating:(

Iridium nodes don't appear in the Mines so that's normal. You don't normally find Prismatic Shards in the Mines either, they're a very very very rare drop.

They do appear in Skull Caverns, and in potentially very large numbers, however the odds of them appearing are linked to how deep you are. Typically you want to drop in with bombs, get very deep very quickly, and then start mining the many Iridium nodes you will find there.

You can find prismatic shards doing any activity that can yield artifacts, so it's possible to find the prismatic in the mines. In my current save I've found 1 in the mine and 1 fishing.

You can, but it's not normal due to the very low drop rates on it in the Mines.

The nodes are only in the skull cavern and the island dungeon, and you have to get a few levels down in the cavern to have them, Not sure, at least 15?
And very rarely in the quarry I think.

You can find the ore in geodes, or have it drop from mobs - even in the lower levels of the regular mine. Crates and barrels, too, I believe.

Prismatic shard dropped for me 3x: once from a mob in the regular mine IIRC, once from a geode and once from a mob/rock or crate in the skull cavern. Not sure which, I was bombing and hacking away at the time *g*

I feel like they upped and prismatic shard spawn rate. Found straight up 6 shards on my last SC dive. Or maybe just my lucky day
